We are very pleased to have a return engagement from one of our most popular speakers – General U. S. Grant! He will be recounting one of his finest moments in the Civil War – the Campaign for Vicksburg. The campaign combined excellent strategy and tactics with an understanding of the strengths of his Army and the weaknesses of the Confederate Army under General John C. Pemberton. The surrender at Vicksburg coupled with the Confederate defeat at Gettysburg was the turning point in the War. Grant’s performance helped move him to the top position in the Union Army.
It is great story and we are fortunate to have one of the most knowledgeable people on Grant to tell it. Dr. Curt Fields has been impersonating Grant for many years. He has travelled the country and has played major roles in ceremonies from Appomattox to Shiloh and Vicksburg. He not only looks like Grant – he has done the research to speak like Grant. You will not want to miss his performance! See you on the 10th!
