The film GETTYSBURG and its award winning source material, Michael Shaara’s historical novel, “The Killer Angels,” is considered by many to be one of the best Civil War movies of all time. Originally conceived as a tv mini-series, “Gettysburg” was released across the country in 1993. Filmed, in part, on the grounds of the actual battlefield, and with the assistance of thousands of Civil War re-enactors, the movie has become an indispensable part of telling the story of the War.
Join Patrick Falci, who portrayed General A.P. Hill in the film and as historical advisor to the filmmakers, for a behind the scenes look at the making (and the filming) of history. Beginning five years before a frame of film was shot, Pat will share stories about the film’s creators, the re-enactors, the technical aspects of shooting on hallowed ground, and of course there will be stories about the many celebrities who appeared in the film – including Jeff Daniels, Martin Sheen, Tom Berenger, and even Ted Turner.
This should be a very entertaining event! See you on the 15th! (not the 8th!)
