One of the more spectacular stories of American military history is that of General Joe Wheeler. He graduated from West Point in 1859. By the time he was 26, he was a Major General in the Confederate Army and was the Chief of Cavalry for the Army of Mississippi. He was the head of the cavalry during Gen. Braxton Bragg’s invasion of Kentucky at Murfreesboro and Chattanooga. He was also active in the Atlanta campaign. His exploits were second only to those of Bedford Forrest.

After the CW he became active in politics and served 8 terms in Congress as a Representative from Alabama. But he wasn’t finished with his military service and volunteered to serve in the Army during the Spanish-American War. He was made a Major General of Volunteers and served with distinction.

There is no better person to tell this story than our speaker – Pat Falci. Pat is best known for his role as General A. P. Hill. but he also served as actor and historian for the 1997 movie “The Rough Riders.” Pat is a professional actor and an outstanding historian. He has done his research and is an expert on his subject. We know from experience that his presentations are both entertaining and informative. Don’t miss it! Feel free to bring a friend! See you on the 14th!
