Texas Civil War Museum
Outstanding collection of Civil War rifles, pistols, uniforms and personal artifacts. Also houses the flags from the United Daughters of the Confederacy and a fine collection of Victorian dresses. Not to be missed.

Austin Civil War Round Table
Very active group. Present the Laney Award each year for the Civil War book that has had the greatest impact.

Meets on the second Tuesday of each month.

Excellent organization. Meets on the Second Wednesday of each month with the exception of July and August

Essential Civil War Curriculum
This site, sponsored by James I. Robertson and William C. Davis, is a sesquicentennial project of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies. The intent of the site is to provide peer reviewed articles on key aspects of the Civil War. The site is actively seeking contributors. It promises to be a "go to" source for reliable Civil War information.
